Robert M. Pollina, MD, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon and the founder of Suffolk Vascular & Vein Center, which has three offices conveniently located in Port Jefferson Station, Hauppauge, and Riverhead, New York. Dr. Pollina graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, before earning his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center (formerly known as the State University of New York Health Science Center) in Brooklyn, New York.

He completed his surgical residency at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn and then worked there as an attending trauma surgeon. He completed his medical training with a vascular fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and currently serves as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at two local hospitals in addition to practicing at Suffolk Vascular & Vein Center.

Dr. Pollina is active in his field and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His other professional associations include the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York, Suffolk County Medical Association, and the American College of Phlebology. He’s been recognized for his skills as a surgeon and his contributions to the field by Newsday, who’s named him a top doctor, and by Castle Connolly Medical, who’s recognized him as a top doctor for the past 15 consecutive years.

In his practice, Dr. Pollina is adept in all areas of vascular surgery and medicine. He’s skilled in endovascular reconstructions, such as arterial angioplasty, stenting, and dialysis access maintenance procedures. He’s proficient in all open vascular procedures, including leg bypass surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery, and carotid artery surgery. He’s also renowned for his ability to treat varicose and spider veins with minimally invasive procedures.
