Robert M. Pollina, MD, FACS

 
 Dr. Pollina founded Suffolk Vascular Associates nearly 20 years ago. He received his
M.D. degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, New York in 1988 after attending college at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He then did a surgical residency at Kings County Hospital Center in New York following which he was an attending trauma surgeon. He received his vascular fellowship training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

He is board certified in vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Medical Society of the State of New York, Suffolk County Medical Association, American Medical Association and a member of the American College of Phlebology. He has been recognized as Top Doctor with Castle Connolly Medical for the past 15 consecutive years and has been recognized by Newsday as a “Top Doctor”.

Dr. Pollina has extensive experience in all areas of vascular surgery and medicine
including endovascular reconstruction such as arterial angioplasty and stenting and dialysis access maintenance procedures. He also performs all open vascular procedures including carotid artery surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery and leg bypass surgery. Dr. Pollina is an expert in the care of varicose and spider veins with minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Pollina serves as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the two local hospitals.

Thomas E. Arnold, MD, FACS

Dr. Arnold joined Suffolk Vascular Associates in 1997.

He received his M.D. from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in 1985 after attending the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a surgical residency at University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian Hospital and the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He finished his vascular fellowship at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Arnold is board certified in Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of Medical Society of the State of New York. He has been recognized as Top Doctor with Castle Connolly Medical for the past 15 consecutive years and has been recognized by Newsday as a “Top Doctor”.

Dr. Arnold’s practice focuses on all areas of vascular surgery and medicine including conventional open and endovascular procedures. He performs carotid artery surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, leg bypass surgeries, and dialysis access procedures. He also performs many varicose vein procedures using minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Arnold is an active member of the surgical department of several local hospitals.

Gurpreet Gill, MD

Dr. Gill joined Suffolk Vascular Associates in 2015. He received his M.D. degree in 2002 from Odessa Medical University in Odessa, Ukraine. He completed surgical residencies at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey and Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Gill completed his vascular surgery fellowship at West Virginia University in Charleston, West Virginia. He is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is member of the Eastern Vascular Society and Southern Vascular Society.

Dr. Gill’s practice focuses on all areas of vascular surgical and endovascular procedures.  
His areas of expertise include all endovascular procedures such as varicose veins, fistulagrams, arterial angiograms, angioplasty, stenting, as well as the treatment of venous disorders. He is also well trained in all open vascular surgical procedures including carotid endarterectomy, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, and leg bypass surgery. 

 Dr. Gill is fluent in several languages including English, Russian, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

Mauricio Szuchmacher, MD, RPVI

Dr. Szuchmacher joined Suffolk Vascular Associates in 2015. He received his M.D. degree from the University Gama Filho in Brazil. He completed his general surgeryresidency at the Hospital Estadual Getulio Vargas and his vascular surgery fellowship at the Hospital Municipal Miguel Couto, both in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He became board certified in General and Vascular surgery in the same country.

In the US, he also completed a general surgery residency at Western Reserve Health 
Education in Ohio, and a vascular surgery fellowship at North Shore-Long Island Jewish 
Health System in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Szuchmacher is also board certified by the 
American Board of Surgery. He is currently a member of the International Society for Vascular Surgery, International Society of Endovascular Specialists, Society for Vascular Surgery, American College of Surgeons, Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, Brazilian College of Surgeons, and the Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Szuchmacher’s practice focuses on all areas of vascular surgery and endovascular 
procedures. He performs carotid artery surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, leg bypass surgeries, vein ablation, as well as dialysis access procedures.

Dr. Szuchmacher is fluent in several languages including his native language 
Portuguese, English, Hebrew and Spanish.
